Cheryl Broom is a nationally recognized leader in higher education marketing, with nearly two decades of experience helping colleges better connect with the communities they serve.
As the CEO and co-founder of GradComm, Cheryl has led the agency in partnering with more than 100 community colleges across the country—managing multimillion-dollar campaigns and building bold, research-driven brand strategies that drive real results. Her work spans enrollment marketing, rebrands, strategic planning, and public awareness initiatives, all designed to help colleges stand out and succeed.
Cheryl is also the host of Higher Ed Conversations, an award-winning podcast that ranks in the top 10% of podcasts globally. Each episode features insightful, real-world discussions with higher education leaders and changemakers tackling the biggest challenges facing colleges today.
Before founding GradComm, Cheryl served as Director of Governmental Relations, Marketing, and Communications at MiraCosta College and taught communications courses at MiraCosta and Palomar Colleges. Her creative leadership has earned more than 100 marketing awards and led to her being named D6’s “Communicator of the Year” by the National Council for Marketing & Public Relations.
Cheryl holds a master’s degree from California State University, Chico, and a bachelor’s degree from UC Santa Barbara.
